PUBLIC ADVISORY: PENALITIES TO BE IMPOSED BY SAUDI IMMIGRATION ON
OVERSTAYING UMRAH PILGRIMS
The Saudi General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) announced that they will be imposing a fine of SAR 50,000.00 (USD 13,333.33), 6-months imprisonment and deportation to Umrah pilgrims who continue to stay in the Kingdom after their entry visas have expired.
The Jawazat also issued a reminder that Umrah pilgrims are not allowed to travel outside of Makkah, Jeddah and Madinah, and that anyone who transports, employs, shelters, and/or hides overstaying pilgrims will be held liable under Saudi Law.
The Philippine Embassy advises all Filipino Umrah Pilgrims to strictly observe Saudi Rules and Regulations on Umrah to avoid being penalized.
The Embassy also advises all Filipinos staying in the Kingdom to likewise strictly adhere to the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to avoid getting into trouble with the Saudi authorities. - END
