PHL Govt Continues Evacuation from Yemen and
Repatriation to the Philippines

(Riyadh, 15 April 2015) Efforts to evacuate Filipinos in Yemen and repatriate them to the Philippines have continue in the past days, with the total reaching 517 evacuated from Yemen and 341 repatriated to the Philippines as of 13 April.

The latest land evacuation was on 12 April 2015 when a group of 38 adults and 3 infants were evacuated from Saada in north Yemen.

Today 15 April, another group of 21 are traveling from Sana’a to the Yemeni-Saudi border and should arrive and cross the border in the afternoon. By end of the day, the Philippine government would have evacuated a total of 538 Filipinos from Yemen.

The Philippine Embassy has also repatriated to the Philippines 341 Filipino evacuees as of 13 April 2015, with another 60 evacuees set to leave today on FlyNas and Cebu Pacific and arriving in Manila at 3:40PM on 16 April 2015. Today’s flight will bring the total of number of Filipinos repatriated to 401.

There are also some set to leave on Friday and Saturday on Cebu Pacific and PAL flights from Riyadh.

The Philippine Government continues to urge all those in Yemen to contact the Philippine Embassy’s Crisis Management Team in Sanaa to arrange for their expedient evacuation from Yemen.
