Philippine Embassy Celebrates Labor Day with theme
“Disenteng Trabaho at Kabuhayan, Alay Natin sa Bayan”

(Riyadh, 05 May 2015) - On the occasion of the annual celebration of Labor Day, the Philippine Embassy held a flag raising ceremony at the Embassy premises on 1 May 2015. The ceremony was headed by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office led by Labor Attache Rustico M. Dela Fuente. Philippine Embassy officers and staff were also present headed by His Excellency Ezzedin H. Tago as well as other government attached agencies based in Riyadh.

During the short ceremony, Labor Attache Dela Fuente read Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz’ Labor Day message. In her message, Secretary Baldoz thanked all Filipino workers for supporting the Department’s project which aims to uplift and give a decent life each and every Filipino worker. This success has inspired DOLE to continue serving and organize more programs and services which will further elevate the quality of life of every Filipino family.

Minister and Consul General Marshall Louis M. Alferez read President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III’s message for Labor Day. The President stressed that amidst the growing Philippine economy and broadening opportunities, the Philippines remains focused on promoting the significant development of the country by forging a framework which will bring brighter future for all Filipinos and ensure that they will have the capacity to be successful in their lives. The President also asked the cooperation of all Filipinos in order to overcome the obstacles we are facing and to achieve each and every Filipino’s dream of a good and decent life for their families.

In the afternoon, the short program was organized for residents of the Embassy’s Migrant Workers and other Overseas Filipinos Resource Center (MWOFRC). (END)
