Philippine Embassy Registers 410 New
Overseas Voters in Al Khobar
(Riyadh, 2 March 2015) – Following the successful OV Mobile Registration in Buraydah, Al Qassim Region last 20-21 February 2015, the Philippine Embassy conducted its 5th Overseas Voting Mobile Registration at the Al Jazeera International School in Dammam, Eastern Region on 27-28 February 2015.
The two-day registration was conducted in parallel with the Embassy-On-Wheels Consular Outreach headed by Minister and Consul General Marshall Louis M. Alferez.
The Overseas Voters Mobile Team was able to register 410 new Overseas Voters and facilitated six (6) Transfer of OV records, three (3) Reinstatement of OV Records and eight (8) Reactivation of inactive OV records due to their failure to vote in 2 consecutive elections.
The Embassy also values the initiative of Mr. Thermavir S. Ocampo, who personally came to the EOW venue to reactivate his Overseas Voting record. Mr. Ocampo (in the right photo with his daughter) is a voter based in Riyadh.
The on-going Overseas Voting Registration is being held at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and during Embassy-On-Wheels schedule in the different regions under the Embassy’s jurisdiction until 31 October 2015.
Filipino workers in the Kingdom are reminded to bring their old COMELEC Identification Cards when coming for Consular services.
The next schedule of Overseas Voting Mobile Registration will be held at the Al Jabalain Hotel in Hail Province, Northern Region on 06 – 07 March 2015. (END)
