Advisory on the Registration of
All Instruments Relative to or Affecting Births
that occurred in the Saudi Arabia
(Riyadh, 18 August 2015) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh wishes to inform the Filipino community that pursuant to Foreign Service Circular No. 115-2014 dated 3 June 2014, all legal instruments relative to or affecting births that occurred abroad, including Saudi Arabia, must first be registered at the City Civil Registrar Office (CCRO) of Manila.
Applicants for Legitimation and Acknowledgement of Paternity by virtue of R.A. 9255 (An Act Allowing Illegitimate Children to Use the Surname of Their Father Amending for the Purpose Article 176 of Executive Order No. 209, Otherwise Known as the "Family Code of the Philippines”) must execute and secure a copy of the legal instrument (i.e. Affidavit of Legitimation, Affidavit to Use the Surname of Father) from the Embassy and register the same, personally or through an authorized representative, at the City Civil Registry Office (CCRO) of Manila.
A Certified True Copy (CTC) of the said legal instrument, together with the Certificate of Registration issued by CCRO of Manila must then be submitted to Philippine Statistics Authority for processing and proper annotation of Birth Certificate.
