ADVISORY - Passport Appointments Obtained
From Unauthorized Sources
Not Honored by the Embassy

(Riyadh, 8 September 2015) – It has come to the attention of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, that certain websites, group pages on Facebook as well Filipino individuals have been offering assistance to Filipinos in order to obtain an appointment for the purpose of renewing their Philippine passports at the Embassy in Riyadh and during the conduct of mobile consular services or Embassy on Wheels (EOW) in key cities in the Eastern Region.

The Embassy wishes to inform the Filipino community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that these websites, group pages and OFWs are not authorized by the Embassy to provide such services, which is exclusively provided by the Embassy itself.

Said websites, group pages and OFWs have likewise misled Filipinos into thinking that they are legitimate representatives of the Embassy and that they have be authorized to provide such service.

This practice undermines the passport appointment system being implemented by the Embassy and deprives other passport applicants the fair chance of getting an appointment by using official and proper channels.

Filipinos in Saudi Arabia who wish to renew their passports should obtain an appointment by accessing the Embassy’s official website at, www.riyadhpe.dfa.gov.ph.

The Filipino community reminded to be more vigilant in accessing websites and pages as well as soliciting the assistance of OFWs that purport to provide certain “services” that are otherwise provided by the Philippine Embassy and to access only the Philippine Embassy’s website for official transactions.

Said websites, group pages and OFWs who have been engaged in the said practice should likewise immediately cease and desist from this unauthorized activity. (END)
