Advisory on the Delays in the Issuance of Passports

(Riyadh, 17 August 2015) - The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia wishes to inform the Filipino community in Saudi Arabia that, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Office of Consular Affairs (OCA), there have been unexpected delays in the issuance of passports brought about by certain technical difficulties in preparations for the transfer of facilities from the current site to its new location in Batangas, Philippines.

Applicants who have applied for a new (renewal) passport but have waited for more than 60 days from the date of application may apply for passport revalidation (for expired passports) or extension.  Those who need to apply for an extension should bring their official receipt as proof of the date of application.(END)
