Embassy on Wheels Extends 646
Consular Services in Buraidah
(RIYADH, 20 May 2014) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh recently visited the city of Buraidah for its 18th Embassy on Wheels consular outreach mission this year.
The mission extended a total of 646 consular services to the Filipino community there on 16-17 May 2014.
The eight-member Embassy team, which was led by Consul-General Marshall Louis Alferez, processed 482 passport renewals, 1 lost passport, 16 passport extensions, 49 notarials, and one report of birth. The team also released 97 new e-passports.
The team was augmented by volunteers from the Filipino community in Buraidah and officials of the Philippine International School in Buraidah, which provided the venue for the activity.
Buraidah is the capital of Qassim Province in central Saudi Arabia, and is about 350 kilometers from Riyadh. It is home to some 4,000 Filipino workers and their families, mostly employed in the medical sector and as household workers.
“These missions are essential tools for serving the Filipino community in the Kingdom and enable our personnel to get to know our kababayan outside Riyadh better. Buraidah is certainly one of those cities that we visit multiple times in a year because of the size of the community and its proximity to Riyadh,” remarked Consul General Alferez.
As part of the Embassy’s program to improve customer service, the outreach mission also distributed client feedback forms to 400 clients, of which 136 responded as follows:

The next “Embassy on Wheels” will be in Hafr Al-Batin on 23-24 May 2014, while the next visit to Buraidah will be on 5-6 September 2014. (END)
