Embassy on Wheels Extends 644
Consular Services in Jubail

(Riyadh, 14 December 2014) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh successfully held its consular outreach mission or “Embassy on Wheels” (EOW) at the Sabic Gas Camp in Jubail, Saudi Arabia on 12-13 December 2014.

During the EOW, the Team was able to process 415 e-Passport applications, 1 lost e-Passport application, 89 notarial services, 6 birth registrations, 11 passport extensions, and also released 122 new passports.

Consul Mary Jennifer D. Dingal, Team Leader of the EOW, expressed appreciation to the Filipino community leaders and volunteers in Jubail for their support, assistance and cooperation during the 2-day activity.

As part of the Embassy’s program to improve customer service, the Team conducted a client feedback survey to 500 clients, of which 145 responded. The survey yielded the following results:

Jubail, which is 490 km (300 mi) from Riyadh, is a city in the Eastern province on the Arabian (Persian) Gulf coast of Saudi Arabia. It is the largest industrial city in the Middle East and home to the Middle East's largest and world's fourth largest petrochemical company. It also has the world's largest IWPP (Independent Water and Power Project) producing 2743.6 MW of electricity and 800,000 m3 of water daily. Jubail comprises the Old Town of Al Jubail, which was a small fishing village until 1975, and the new industrial area. Jubail Industrial City is the largest civil engineering project in the world today.

According to 2011 estimates, Jubail has a total resident population of 378,949, of which a sizeable number are Filipinos.
