First Philippine Embassy Outreach for 2015 Extends 1,285 Consular Services in Al Khobar

(Riyadh, 11 January 2015) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh successfully held its first consular outreach mission or “Embassy on Wheels” (EOW) for 2015 at the Al Jazeera International School in Dammam in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia on 9-10 January 2015.

The five-member team,  which was headed by  Consul Mary Jennifer D. Dingal, was able  to process 522 e-Passport applications which includes 5 lost passport applications, 108 notarial services, 19 birth registrations, 25 passport extensions, and released 606 new passports.

The Team was assisted by volunteers from the Filipino community in the Eastern Region.

As part of the Embassy’s program to improve customer service, the Team conducted a client feedback survey to 400 clients, of which 329 (or 82.25%) responded as follows:

Al Khobar is at least 4 hours away, by land, from Riyadh. It is centrally located and can be easily accessed by Filipinos in the Eastern Region, which includes Dhahran, Dammam, Jubail, Qatif, Safwa, Saihat, Al Hasa, Abqaiq, Hafr Al Bateen, and Al Khafj. It is connected with the major highways in the region including Dhahran-Jubail Highway, Dhahran-Dammam Highway as well as Al Khobar-Dammam Highway, which links Al Khobar with Dammam directly and links them both to Dammam Airport.

The next consular outreach mission will be on 16-17 January 2015 in Al Khafji, also in the Eastern Region. (END)
