(Riyadh, 21 June 2015) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh successfully conducted its 14th Overseas Voting (OV) Registration Outreach for 2015 at Al Jazeera International School in Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 19-20 June 2015.

The OV outreach mission is a part of the Embassy’s thrust to deliver overseas voting services closer to Filipinos in Saudi Arabia to enable them to vote during the National Elections in 2016.

This is the 1st OV outreach conducted for the year during the month of Ramadan.

A total of 267 new OV registrations, 4 certifications and 1 reactivation were facilitated by members of Embassy.

Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mr. Ezzedin H. Tago invited all Filipinos in Saudi Arabia to register as overseas voter before the deadline on 31 October 2015. “We only have over four months left before the deadline. I urge all Filipinos to register and exercise their right to vote during the National Elections next year,” said Ambassador Tago.

Registering as overseas voter will enable all qualified Filipinos in Saudi Arabia to vote for the positions of President, Vice President, 12 members of Senate and one Party-list sectoral representative during the National Elections in May 2016.

OV services are available at the Embassy lobby from Sunday through Thursday from 9:00AM to 4:00PM during the month of Ramadan and from 8:00AM to 5:00PM thereafter until 31 October 2015. OV services will also be provided during scheduled Embassy-on-Wheels (EOW) outreach missions. END
