Embassy Conducts Special 5-day
Overseas Voting Registration in Al Khobar
(Riyadh, 06 September 2015) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh successfully conducted a 5-day Overseas Voting Mobile Registration at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 30 August to 3 September 2015. This is the first 5-day OV Mobile Registration conducted by the Philippine Embassy since the registration began in May 2014.
A total of 609 new OV registrations/certifications were facilitated by members of the OV Team out of the 756 consular applicants who renewed their passports during the 5-day consular mission.
During the mobile registration, there were 20 Filipinos who are still active voters of Riyadh-AlKhobar.
In addition, other services were also extended to the OV Registration clients:
- Transfer of OV registration records from their previous country of work to Riyadh,
- Reinstatement of previous OV records which were removed from the NROV;
- Reactivation of previous OV records which were already deactivated due to failure to vote in two consecutive elections; and,
- Correction of Entries of the OV records.
The Philippine Embassy continues to encourage all Filipinos in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to register as overseas voters in order to exercise their right to vote for the National Elections in May 2016. Last day of Overseas Voting Registration is on 31 October 2015 . (END)
