Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announces the Arrival of New Officers
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announces the arrival of First Secretary and Consul General Iric C. Arribas, replacing Consul General Marshall Louis Alferez who left in August 2015 after the end of his tour of duty. The Philippine Embassy also welcomes the arrival of a Mr. Joserico R. Laurel, Finance Officer who replaces Ms. Aniline Punzalan.
First Secretary and Consul General Arribas has degree in Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, as well as a Masters in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management. Before joining the government service, he was Project Officer of World Bank Jakarta Mission and Laguna Urban Development Project (a World Bank Assisted Project).
He passed the Foreign Service Examinations in 2000.
He has served in the Philippine embassies in Madrid, New Delhi, and Seoul.
Mr. Joserico R. Laurel, the new Finance Officer, is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Lyceum of the Philippines. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Prior to joining the government service, Mr. Laurel served in various private companies and the latest of which was as Financial Analyst of PEPSI COLA Product Phils.
He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 2002, and was first designated as Finance Officer of DFA Mindanao and the Regional Consular Office in Davao City. His Foreign Service postings were at the Philippine Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria and the Philippine Embassy in Ankara, Turkey. Before his foreign assignment in Riyadh he was roving Finance Officer of the Regional Consular Offices in Davao, General Santos City, and Cotabato City.
The Embassy gave a farewell to Minister and Consul General Marshall Louis M. Alferez who left the Kingdom in August 2015. In addition, Second Secretary and Consul Winston Dean S. Almeda, current Head of the Assistance to National Section, will in the next days be leaving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after completing his tour of duty on 30 September 2015. END
