Embassy successfully conducts 5-day
Overseas Voting Registration in Al Khobar

(Riyadh, 27 October 2015) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh successfully conducted a 5-day Overseas Voting Mobile Registration at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 18 – 22 October 2015.

This is the second 5-day OV Mobile Registration held in 2015. The first was held on 30 August to 3 September 2015, also at the same venue.

With the deadline for OV registration nearing its last day on 31 October 2015, the OV group was able to facilitate a total of 1,061 new OV registrations/certifications. This is a 43% increase in OV registration from the earlier result in September 2015.

In addition, other services such as transfer of OV registration records, reinstatement or reactivation of OV records and correction of entries in the OV records, were also extended to the OV Registration clients.

Registering as Overseas Voter will allow Filipinos abroad to vote for the positions of President, Vice President, twelve (12) members of the Senate and one (1) party-list sectoral representative during the National Elections in 2016.

Deadline of registration is on 31 October 2015 with no extensions. Registrants must bring their Philippine Passport or any other ID to register. (END)
