Embassy Announces the Conduct of the
2016 Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Examination
(Riyadh, 7 March 2016 ) The Philippine Embassy announces the holding of the 2016 FOREIGN SERVICE OFFICER (FSO) EXAMINATION to recruit candidates for appointment to the position of Foreign Service Officer, Class IV.
The FSO examination is composed of five (5) parts:
- Qualifying Test – 7 August 2016
- Preliminary Interview- To be announced
- Written Test- To be announced
- Psychological Test-To be announced
- Oral Test –To be announced
Applicants shall meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship-Applicants should be natural-born Filipino citizens and concurrently permanently residents of the Philippines. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 9225 and its implementing Rules and Regulations, those who pass the FSO Examinations with more than one citizenship, shall subscribe and swear to an oath of allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines and its duly constituted authorities, and renounce their oath of allegiance to any other country, prior to assumption of office.
- Age-Applicants should not be more than thirty-five (35) years of age on the day of the Qualifying Test or on 7 August 2016.
- Education-Applicants should have at least graduated from a four (4) year bachelor’s degree course or higher on or before the prescribed due date of submission of requirements, and shall present the transcript of records, and either the diploma, certificate of graduation or its equivalent, from a college or university of recognized standing.
- Work Experience or Further Studies-Applicants should have undergone at least two (2) years employment or further studies or a combination of both after graduating from college or university.
Applicants are advised to check the Announcement on the FSO Examinations posted in the DFA website for the details and procedures in applying for the examination. Application forms may be downloaded from www.dfa.gov.ph.
Applications with incomplete documentary requirements shall not be accepted. A non-refundable admission fee of five hundred pesos (P500) or equivalent amount in SAR shall be collected from the applicants. The final determination of the applicant’s eligibility to take the Qualifying Test rests on the final decision of the Board of Foreign Service Examinations, Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippines.
The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh shall accept completed application forms for the Qualifying Test not later than Thursday, 9 June 2016. END
