“Kapihan sa Embassy” Held
with Filipino Community in Riyadh
(Riyadh, 13 April 2014) – The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh held an afternoon “Kapihan sa Embassy” forum with about 30 Filipino community leaders from the Riyadh area on Friday, 11 April 2014.
The forum, which was chaired by Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ezzedin Tago, was an opportunity to brief the Filipino community about the highlights of the Embassy’s work over the past year, and its priorities and directions in 2014.
“It is vastly important that the Embassy keeps the Filipino community abreast of our work and our specific achievements in the delivery of our mandate here in Saudi Arabia. The community plays a part in helping us achieve our objectives, especially through their continued awareness and support for the Embassy’s programs and projects,” remarked Ambassador Tago.
The briefing consisted of a recap of the Embassy’s 2013 accomplishments in all of its areas of policy and consular work, and a discussion on the priorities for the current year. These priorities include the overseas voter registration for the 2016 national elections, maintaining a high level of service delivery for consular clients, undertaking outsourcing of passport services, continuing to provide extensive assistance to distressed nationals, and more effectively tapping the Saudi tourism market.
