Philippine Embassy Participates in the 2016
Universal Children’s Festival

(Riyadh, 19 December 2016) - The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh participated in the Universal Children’s Day Festival hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Information held at the King Fahad Cultural Center on 9-11 December 2016.

During the 3-day festival, the Embassy displayed traditional Filipino of Filipino children such as sungka, yoyo, trumpo, tirador and yukelele, as well as Philippine handicrafts, at the Philippine booth.

The Embassy also prepared activities for the children. The most popular of which the “Color My Map” activity where the children were asked to color the Philippine map. The finished art works were displayed in front of the Philippine booth with the names of the children written on it for the other visitors to some.

This year, students from the Riyadh International School (RIS) participated in the event. The male high school students performed “Dinagyang Dance” during the second and last day of the festival.

Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al-Tarifi, led the other Saudi government officials and diplomats from participating foreign missions in watching the children perform.
