The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Karapatan at Pribilehiyo ng Mga May Kapansanan, Isakatuparan at Ipaglaban”. During the program, Ms. Gloria Jean Castaño – Zafra, Cultural Officer, led the Philippine Embassy Officers and Staff, representatives of the attached agencies and Embassy clients for the Loyalty Pledge of an Advocate of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities while Ms. Maricel N. Deloria, Social Services Attache read the Message of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Judy M. Taguiwalo for the said celebration.
In addition, a video presentation entitled “Inclusion” will be played at the lobby of the Embassy chancery for the whole week. The video was produced by the National Council on Disability Affairs. The Audio-Video Presentation showed the hindrances that the PWDs experience in blending in with the society and how they continue to strive hard to contribute to the advancement of the society despite their disability. |
