 #OgopMarawi (Help Marawi) Drive
in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia a Success

(Riyadh, 25 July 2017)In support to the #OgopMarawi (Help Marawi) Drive recently launched by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh launched a campaign encouraging all Filipino community in Saudi Arabia to write and send messages of support to boost the morale of our troops who are fighting the Maute group in Marawi City.

Approximately 600 letters and messages were received by the Philippine Embassy from various sources including messages from the students of the five (5) Philippine schools in Riyadh and Eastern region such as Al Dannah International School, Al Taj International School, International Philippine School in Riyadh, International Philippine School in Alkhobar and Riyadh International School.

Along with the letters and messages, a mural was painted by the Hagod Filipino Artists in Riyadh as a token of their support to the troops in Marawi. It was on display at the Philippine Embassy, Riyadh and would be subsequently given by the artists to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
