AMBASSADOR ALONTO TRAVELS TO DIFFERENT
CITIES IN KSA TO ENGAGE WITH THE FILIPINO
COMMUNITIES
Ambassador Alonto delivers his remarks before the Filipino community in Riyadh
(Riyadh, 17 December 2017) – Newly-arrived Ambassador Adnan V. Alonto travelled to different regions of Saudi Arabia to touch base with the Filipino communities in the kingdom.
Ambassador Alonto has consistently stated before the Filipino communities that President Duterte has given him the mandate to prioritize the protection of the rights and the promotion of the welfare of Overseas Filipinos in the kingdom.
“I promise that the Embassy would be an enabler in championing the well-being of the Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia,” Alonto said in his remarks before the representatives of various organizations in Riyadh.
Ambassador Alonto travelled to Jeddah on 23-28 November. He met with the officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah and attached agencies. During a forum with the Filipino community on 27 November, Ambassador Alonto commended Saripada Balindong Daud, a Filipino worker who saved a polio-stricken elderly man who was trapped inside his car during the floods that engulfed Jeddah.

Ambassador Alonto went to the Eastern Region on 1-3 December where he served as the guest speaker at the joint Oath Taking of OFWs who successfully passed the 2017 Special Professional Licensure Examinations from various fields of profession administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). He also visited the International Philippine School in Al-Khobar and Al Majd International School Dammam to address the leaders of the Filipino community in the Eastern Region.
During his trip to Al-Khobar, Ambassador Alonto held meetings with executives from Lulu Hypermarket and Iram Arabia Ltd. who expressed interest in investing in the Philippines. Ambassador Alonto offered his assistance in facilitating the proposed projects.
On 11 December, Ambassador Alonto hosted a gathering of 200 community leaders based in Riyadh and the Central Region in his official residence in Riyadh. (END)
