STATEMENT OF THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY ON REPORTS OF INTERCEPTION BY SAUDI AIR DEFENSE OF A HOUTHI LAUNCHED MISSILE ATTACK ON RIYADH

11 April 2018, Riyadh – The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Riyadh today received reports of a Houthi-launched ballistic missile from Yemen being intercepted by Saudi Arabian Air Defense Systems over Riyadh this afternoon. So far, there have been no reports of damages to property or life.

The Embassy is in the process of verifying additional details regarding the latest missile attack on the Saudi capital.

The Embassy once again calls for calm and vigilance among the Filipino Community in Saudi Arabia, and to immediately report to the Embassy any information on the latest missile attack, especially if any Filipinos are affected. - END
