Mr. Rommel Ariman Romato is the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He assumed his post as Consul General in Riyadh in January 2021.

Mr. Romato most recently served at the Philippine Embassy in London, United Kingdom as head of economic, public diplomacy, and administration sections. He was previously seconded to the United Nations' International Maritime Organization (IMO) headquarters in London.

In the Philippines, Mr. Romato served as Special Assistant to the Undersecretary for Policy and Principal Assistant to the Undersecretary for Administration and the Undersecretary for Special and Ocean Concerns of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Before joining the diplomatic service, he served as Legal Researcher of the Office of the Ombudsman.

Mr. Romato earned an MSt in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Oxford and a BA in Philosophy from the University of the Philippines.

Born in Marawi City, Mr. Romato is married to Dr. Nizhreen Mapandi and has four children.
